ok i've got a problem i hope someone can solve it

i recorded myself drawing some things! and they look nice and all, but the problem is, i cannot get the files out of the program camstudio. it's the most bizarre problem! I am only able to see the files and open them with the camstudio player. When i go to where they are located in the explorer, they are not there, even when viewing "hidden" files. i am also unable to copy-paste them from the camstudio program onto the desktop.

it is odd! does anyone know how to solve this? their faq leads to this hilarious ehelp website that definitely isn't going to answer my problems.

otherwise, does anyone know of a better screen-recorder that doesn't come with a watermark?

also Ry are you out there this isn't funny

I found mine is C:\Windows\Temp.. I believe it had saved there because I had yet to turn on the option with Camstudio of having it ask me where I'd like to save the video files, rather than saving them automatically. Once I did this, when I went to save a test video I made I had to grant it permission to save it.. So I believe the first one was saved in the temp folder because I had yet to give it permission. And now the video is locked inside of that folder, and won't play even though I unlocked it. But after I granted Camstudio permission to save video files, they work fine.. so maybe that is the problem you are having? Hope it helps.

Hi Jeinu,
You might of already found them since this is a bit late. But your videos from camstudio are possibly under
C:\Users\user name\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\CamStudio

Once you record and save it, the avi should be in MY COMPUTER>C drive:>PROGRAM FILES>CAMSTUDIO. From there they are easily cut and pasted wherever. But if you are saying you go there and can’t see them, then...maybe you changed the location of save to: and thus they are all sitting in another folder somewhere. I suggest doing a search files and folders and typing the name of avi to find it if all else fails. If the player can load it, the file is on your hard drive somewhere!

yeah that's the strange thing! i very adamantly checked that i had the right folder i was looking in, camstudio's default save-to folder. but in checking there in the explorer, the avi files are just not there, but i can see all the other files/folders, which are the same in both explorers. but the avi's just disappear.

i dunno if i maybe checked a box in options i wasn't supposed to or something.
